One benefit of the monthly informal meeting of the Christchurch (NZ) based DIY Devotees is the surprising amount of information and tips that gets exchanged over coffee. The qualities of Swiss sandpaper were discussed last night as it is the sandpaper of choice for a number of professional painters because, it doesn't clog as much as other sandpapers. Clogging, in this respect, is when the rough service gets full of the sanded debris and sits there, so the sandy grains get covered and rendered useless. One DIY Devotee was so taken with the sandpaper's qualities she purchased about 30 metres of it prior to painting her house…if anyone knows the name of it, please let me know and I’ll pass it on.
